A trained painter, the Amsterdam and London based Peter Greenaway PhD. is one of the great film directors of our time, an innovative curator and a challenging philosopher of cinema. His multi-media approach surpasses traditional media forms and aims at a visual language in its own right. His films include The Falls; The Belly of an Architect; The Draughtman's Contract; Drowning By Numbers; The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover; Prospero's Books; The Baby of Mâcon; The Pillow Book; Eight and a Half Women. He has curated Flying Out Of This World (Paris 1992), The Physical Self (Rotterdam 1992), 100 Objects To Represent The World (Vienna 1993), Stairs (Geneva 1994, Münich 1995).
