Second annual Science Colloquium to be held on June 27, 2018
The IoNLPT (Internet of Natural Language Processing Things) and the Future of Language
On June 27, 2018, in the context of its June (Saas-Fee) session, the EGS will hold its second annual "Science Colloquium."
This year's meeting will feature members of the Google AI and design team that sponsor "Art in the Age of Machine Intelligence," including its director, Blaise Agüera y Arcas. EGS faculty leading a cluster of seminars in June devoted to contemporary issues in science and digital thought will also be present (Benjamin H. Bratton, Elie During, Philip Beesley, and Sha Xin Wei), along with other distinguished visitors. Our special thanks to Kenric McDowell for making this link between the participating groups.
As indicated by its title, this meeting will take up as its central question the relation between AI and natural language. The topic should afford rich grounds for a conversation at the very limits of contemporary philosophy, design, art, and engineering.
Individuals who would like to join this meeting but who are not registered for the EGS June session should contact Christopher Fynsk (firstname.lastname@example.org). We are happy to accept visitors for this exciting encounter.
